Cleveland Clambake Supplies & Retail Will Call

Clambake season is a Northeast Ohio tradition - especially in the Cleveland area. Clabake season runs from the weekend after Labor Day through the last weekend in October. Whether you’re hosting a backyard clambake, planning an event at a park, or featuring a clambake at your restaurant, nothing beats the aroma of fresh seafood steaming together. Catanese Classics can be your go-to for clambake catering. Our clams are sourced from trusted East Coast suppliers and delivered full of flavor and true ocean taste. When do I need to place my clambake order to ensure pickup?

For clambake orders, please place your order by Tuesday for, same week, Friday or Saturday pick-up.

Where do I pick up my clambake order and rental equipment?

Pick-up is at Catanese Classics’ facility located at 15500 S. Waterloo Rd., Cleveland, OH.

Can non-restaurants or individual customers use the clambake / will-call service?

Yes. The “Retail Will-Call” option is open to all customers - not just commercial clients - so individuals, families, or small event planners can order and pick up a clambake kit.

What kinds of clams and portions can I order?

You can order different types of clams (Littleneck, Middleneck, Topneck, Cherrystone - wild or farmed), packaged in counts of 12, 50, 100, or 200. Clams come washed and bagged for convenience. Pac Out Bundles are not available. A La Carte options only.

What additional items or “add-ons” are available with a clambake order?

Besides clams, you can add items like chicken, shellfish (shrimp, mussels, crab legs, lobster), chowder, clam juice, and sides - allowing you to build a full seafood dinner rather than just clams.

Clams offered by Catanese Classics

Does Catanese Classics provide the cooking equipment for clambakes?

Yes - we offer rental of steamers, pots, baskets, and burners (with varying capacities depending on how many people you’re serving). However, we do not provide propane — you’ll need to supply that yourself.

How do I cook the clambake once I pick it up?

Use a steamer with a rack and lid on a burner with enough water at the bottom (not immersing the food). Layer clams, then chicken/potatoes, then add corn/seafood later - close the lid, steam, then add extras near the end. Full bake time is roughly 1 hour 45 minutes (with 1 hr 15 minutes for initial steam). Don’t open the lid during cooking.

Do I need to give a headcount when ordering a clambake?

Yes - it’s helpful to know how many guests you’ll have before ordering. That way, you can choose the right size (clams & extras) and know whether to rent small or large equipment (pots, baskets, burners). Catanese Classics suggests planning based on guest count before placing orders.
