October Meat Market Update

After last months records highs, we are fortunately starting to see a downward price trend across the board.

Meat Market Updates per cut:

GROUND CHUCK: Grinds went down in price last week and continue to be down after three days of trading this week. Analysts expect the market downturn to continue in the weeks ahead.

GROUND BEEF: 81/19 Ground Beef traded down last week and is down after three days of trading this week. 73/27 Ground Beef was down last week and continues to be down after three days of trading this week.

STRIPS: Up in price last week, but both grades are down this week after three days of trading.

TOP BUTTS: Down in price last week and continue to be down this week after limited trading.

TENDERLOINS: Down last week and have continued to be down after three days of trading this week on both grades.

RIBEYES: Heavy Ribeyes were down last week. Similar to lights, both the Choice and Select grades are down after three days of trading this week.

FLAP MEAT: Flap Meat trading was mixed last week. The Choice grade is up this week, while Select is flat after three days of trading.

FLANK: Flanks were up last week. The Choice grade has been slightly down this week, but Select prices have continued to increase after three days of trading.

SKIRT STEAK: Skirts were down last week and have dropped in price again this week. The outside skirt market has continued to drop week over week and may be nearing a bottom, according to analysts.
